Okay, so I decided to write something about the importance of being a productive home based worker because of a little incident that happened about a week ago. There was a fire that took place near my neighborhood and the local government was forced to cut off power here. It was extremely frustrating for me because I did not want my work to become compromised because of it. However, I knew that I had no choice, so I simply accepted it and spent my day doing nothing.
It was a good thing that my boss understood what I was going through and he was more than willing to adjust my work schedule so that my pay for the week wouldn’t get compromised. But I still felt that I had just completely wasted away a good 24 hours of productivity because of that damn fire. If you guys are working a home based job, I strong advice that you all learn how to become productive on a consistent basis.
If you are given a set of tasks by your boss, then try to finish it as early as possible. I know that working too much can be stressful for the brain which is why it is important for you to give yourself a break every now and then. Remember that working from home means that you will be able to take a break anytime you want. Use this to your advantage, but try not to abuse it because this will make your boss think that you are not doing anything for the day. Try to balance out your break time and your work time accordingly.
This is a question that one of my former colleagues at my old work place asked me a few days ago. We both did a little bit of catching up after not seeing each other for several months. We talked about out a ton of stuff with a little bit of work related topics being thrown in here and there. At one point, she asked me if she should resign from work and try her luck out with a home based job instead. I was a little baffled when she asked me this, but I answered her question nonetheless.
I told her that it was all entirely up to her because I did not want to feel like I influenced her on making her quit her job. The reason why I decided to start working from home several months ago is because I was no longer happy with my old career path. I wanted to experience some change and I felt like it was the best thing to do at the time.
I never regretted my decision and I still feel like it was one of the best choices that I ever made in my life. My friend listened to my story and about how I decided to go with a home based career and she seemed pretty intent on quitting her old office job as well. I told her to think about it long and hard because there is nothing easy about having to quit your job.
I truly hope that my friend knows what she’s doing because her future is on the line here. If she quits her job to start a home-based career, but only to find out that she isn’t happy with it then she may end up regretting it big time. So guys, if you are going through the same thing that my friend is, please try to think long and hard about it. Never try to rush things because this sort of decision needs time, so I implore you to reconsider all of your options before you make your choice.
There is nothing that makes you want to work at home like having your very own home office. Being able to have your very own office at home makes you feel extra special because not everyone gets to have this sort of opportunity. However, you will only be motivated to work harder as long as your office is set up correctly. So how exactly do you go about doing something like that? It is important to set up your office in a manner that will make it conductive for working.
Take my case for instance. I have my office set up near the balcony of my home’s second floor because the view that I get motivates me to work even harder. It might seem like a strange thing for some of you out there, but this is how I motivate myself and I’m sure that some of you have your own ways of pumping yourselves up to work even harder.
I also have a small cactus set up in front of my computer so it can absorb the radiation coming from my monitor. Yes, cacti can do that and I would highly recommend that you all get one for your computer screens. Be sure to keep everything properly organized as well because a messy office will make you feel like you are working inside a pig sty.
One last piece of advice that I would like to give out is to always choose a location that you feel will make it easier for you to work in. If you feel like your office will go better inside your bedroom, then set it up in there. Just make sure that the location you choose will be free from distractions because the last thing you need is someone or something preventing you from getting any work done.
If you are an employee then you have probably gone through days wherein you feel like you do not want to do anything. This can really ruin your productivity and even get you in hot water with your boss. So what do you do in this case? Do you simply give in to your overwhelming feeling of laziness or do you do something to help you overcome this “slump” so you can be more productive? I am no stranger to this feeling myself, so I thought I’d offer some tips on how you can be more productive on days when you don’t feel like getting up from bed.
When you wake up, always try to do a little bit of exercising to help get your mind and body ready for the long day ahead. Doing about 10 minutes of stretching should get your body revved up. Some of you may laugh at this, but for me doing some stretching before working always got me to feel refreshed each morning.
You should also start each day with a well-balanced breakfast because this is one meal that you should never skip. I once went to work without eating my breakfast and it made me feel like crap for the rest of the day. So never skip your breakfast if you want to be more productive. I hope that these tips will be able to help you improve your productivity so you can do more to make yourself feel better while you work.
All printers, no matter how awesome or “top of the line” they might be, will eventually need to have their ink cartridges replaced at one point or another, and the Epson XP 405 is no exception to this rule. Not replacing the ink cartridge on your printer after a lengthy period of time can cause damage to it, which is why it is very advisable to change the ink cartridge on your printer as soon the situation calls for it.
You have to remember that Epson printers use ink cartridges equipped with IC chips that can accurately monitor how much ink is being used up by each cartridge. You can replace the Epson XP 405 ink cartridge using either the control panel or the Status Monitor utility. A word of caution though, before you replace the ink cartridge on your XP 405 make sure that you do not get any of the ink to come into contact with your skin.
Okay, so with that being said let us proceed with the topic at hand, shall we?
Replacing Ink Using the Control Panel
The indicator lights on your printer’s control panel will let you know if it is time for you to replace your ink cartridges. If the light starts to flash, then you may have to replace one of your ink cartridges, but if the light just stays still then that means you are going to have to replace the entire cartridge altogether.
To replace the cartridge using the control panel, remember to follow these steps:
- Check to see if your printer is on. You should be able to tell this if the printer’s power light is on, but not flashing.
- Open the printer cover by lowering the output tray.
- After you have successfully lowered the output tray, the next thing you need to do is to press “ink” button. The ink button is the one that is shaped like a tear drop. After you press this button, you will begin to see the ink head move into the ink cartridge’s replacement position and the power flight will start flashing. Remember not to press the ink button for more than three seconds as this may cause the printer to initiate its print head cleaning command.
- Open the cartridge cover and remove the ink cartridge that you wish to replace by pinching its sides. Remember to dispose of the cartridge properly and not to refill it.
- Place the replacement ink cartridge into the slot into cartridge holder until you hear it click into place. Avoid using too much force when inserting the cartridge into the holder.
- Close the cartridge cover and printer cover after you are done replacing the ink cartridge.
- Press the ink button and wait for the printer to initiate its ink recovery system. This process should take about a minute to complete. Once this process has been completed, the printer will return the print head to its normal position and the power button will no flash and will remain on, and the ink button will turn off completely.
I have been doing most of my work from home for the last 3 years or so and I have to say that it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I used to have a normal office job just like everyone else, but I soon found that I was growing bored of it. I wanted to experience something different because my old job just wasn’t cutting it for me anymore. I felt like I was only working for the sake of working, and not because I enjoyed doing my job.
I decided to quit my job after my little epiphany and I soon found out about some good paying work-from-home jobs online. I tried my luck by sending in a few application letters, but none of the clients that I wrote to replied. I remained patient though and applied for a job as a virtual assistant and soon enough my application letter was approved.
I felt really overjoyed as soon as I got hired because it felt like I was given a second shot at life. My previous job as an office secretary really helped me get some “cool” points with my new employer and soon enough I found myself working as a VA (virtual assistant). This isn’t exactly the type of job that I had in mind when I was a kid, but it’s something that I am really enjoying right now.
Working a home-based job may not be something that you would call as a true profession, but as long as you enjoy doing it, then why not go for it? In fact, I would highly recommend others to go for home-based jobs if they find that they are no longer having any fun with their current profession. There is nothing wrong in trying something new as long as it is for your own good.
